It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Skipstone Academy Warriors had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 35-26. Skipstone Academy's win was all the more impressive since Cherokee Christian was averaging only 11.73 points allowed on the season.
Ethan Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 202 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 87 yards and a touchdown. Miller's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.
Cherokee Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayben Meder, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown, and Carson Stripling who picked up 107 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The victory makes it two in a row for Skipstone Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for Cherokee Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Skipstone Academy will head out on the road to face off against Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Christian's defense has only allowed 17.5 points per game this season, so Skipstone Academy's offense will have their work cut out for Skipstone Academy. Cherokee Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
