Eastview has gone 9-1 against Apple Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Lightning will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Eastview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
If Eastview beats Apple Valley with 11 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Lightning beat Hastings on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Lightning, who have now won three contests in a row.
Elise Dormody made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Dormody was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Molly Brown was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ellie Kortas, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Eastview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Apple Valley was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against Farmington, falling 12-1.
Apple Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keura Roloff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
Apple Valley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Eastview, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Eastview's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Lightning have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Apple Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Eastview continue to outrun the ball?
Eastview got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Apple Valley by a conclusive 12-2 score. Do the Lightning have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
