After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Anderson, the Logansport Berries were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Frankfort as Logansport made off with a 38-17 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Logansport, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Logansport was led to victory by Kellyn Cripe and Lydia Goad. Cripe scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Goad scored 17 points. Goad hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylinn Spradling, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Frankfort's loss came despite strong showings from Saira Flores and Vannessa Guardado. Flores scored five points along with ten rebounds and two steals, while Guardado scored two points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Flores has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Frankfort struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Logansport pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
Logansport's win bumped their record up to 4-17. As for Frankfort, they dropped their record down to 1-21 with that loss, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Logansport will challenge Twin Lakes on Saturday. Twin Lakes is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Frankfort, they will head out on the road to face off against Crawfordsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crawfordsville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
