Echols County has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Aucilla Christian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Echols County suffered their biggest loss yet this season last Thursday. They were outmatched by Clinch County on the road and fell 80-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Echols County has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Aucilla Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Wakulla Christian School 66-51.
Ethan Bass was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Faglie, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Echols County's loss was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Aucilla Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Echols County came up short against Aucilla Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 61-54. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bass, who scored 31 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
