The Clayton Clippers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They really took it to Salem County Vo-Tech for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-17 victory on the road. Considering Clayton has won four matches by more than 32 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clayton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rainelle Blocker, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. Blocker is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ava Delaney, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
The win makes it two in a row for Clayton and bumps their season record up to 4-5. As for Salem County Vo-Tech, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clayton is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Woodstown at 4:00 p.m. on January 10th. Woodstown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Clayton in New Jersey (Woodstown is ranked 78th, while Clayton is ranked 315th). As for Salem County Vo-Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Glassboro at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
