Blacksburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. Callie Cerny paced Blacksburg's offense, picking up 19 kills. Cerny got some help from Kourtney Caraway and her 18 assists. Ashley Caraway controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Blacksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for High Point Academy, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Blacksburg and Greenville Tech Charter will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for High Point Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Brashier Middle College Charter at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th.
