On Monday, Brookfield Central took a serious blow against Muskego, falling 76-38. While losing is never fun, Brookfield Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Muskego is ranked 18th).
Brookfield Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dylan Romero, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Romero's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Josie Piurkowski, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Brookfield Central and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Muskego, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield Central will challenge Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Muskego, they will head out on the road to face off against Arrowhead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arrowhead is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
