Caldwell Academy is 0-10 against the Furies since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Caldwell Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Forsyth Country Day Furies at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Caldwell Academy took a serious blow against the Trojans, falling 62-28. While losing is never fun, Caldwell Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Trojans are ranked 51st).
Meanwhile, Forsyth Country Day's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They took a 52-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of O'Neal.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Gigi Lyons, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Lila Kelly, who scored 13 points.
Caldwell Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Forsyth Country Day, they dropped their record down to 11-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
Caldwell Academy came up short against the Furies when the teams last played back in January, falling 53-43. Can Caldwell Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
