For the first time this season, Edison will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Monday. They will be playing at home against the Burbank Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Edison 2.6, Burbank 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Burbank will be up against a hot Edison squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Edison walked away with a 5-2 victory over LEE on Friday.

Samaad Bunch was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hector Narvaez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, while Burbank put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Veterans Memorial. Burbank put the hurt on Veterans Memorial with a sharp 10-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Peyton Bernsen and Ivan Hernandez were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Bernsen tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Hernandez pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Bernsen scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Hernandez went 1-for-2 with one home run. That stolen base was Bernsen's first of the season.
In other batting news, Nathaniel Boone was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Matthew Meza was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Burbank hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive contests.
Burbank pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Edison, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Edison was able to grind out a solid victory over Burbank in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 3-0. Does Edison have another victory up their sleeve, or will Burbank turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
