The Fletcher Senators lost against the Westside Wolverines back in December of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Fletcher fell 49-39 to Westside. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Fletcher came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Westside is ranked 466th).
Fletcher's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Vaglienti, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds. Braden Williams was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Fletcher and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Westside, they pushed their record up to 1-6 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fletcher won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wolfson at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. Wolfson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 196 points over their last three matchups. As for Westside, they will head out on the road to face off against Fleming Island at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
