Eli Naylor put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. He is becoming a predictor of PikeView's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Landon Bolen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Landon Wyatt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Sissonville came out on top against Lincoln County on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Indians walked away with an 8-4 win over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.
The team relied heavily on Layne Coffman, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Barrett Van Camp, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Sissonville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln County only managed five hits.
Sissonville pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for PikeView, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
PikeView might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Sissonville when the teams last played last Friday. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
