Make it 12 blowout wins for El Capitan/Centennial Academy this season. They claimed a resounding 64-20 win over Ash Fork on the road. Winning may never get old, but El Capitan/Centennial Academy sure is getting used to it with their 12th in a row.
It was another big night for Ethan Hammon, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Monte Hammon, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Ash Fork struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as El Capitan/Centennial Academy pulled down 22 offensive rebounds.
El Capitan/Centennial Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Ash Fork, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Capitan/Centennial Academy will face off against Milford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Milford is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Ash Fork, Ash Fork and Grand Canyon will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Grand Canyon is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
