The South Pontotoc Cougars won the last time they faced the Bruce Trojans, and things went their way on Tuesday too. South Pontotoc walked away with a 37-29 win over Bruce. Given South Pontotoc's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Bruce is ranked 206th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bruce struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Pontotoc will be home for the holidays to greet North Pontotoc at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bruce will take on Water Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
