Cape Henry Collegiate is 8-2 against Norfolk Christian since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Ryan Hummel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Dobrinsky, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Norfolk Christian had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against StoneBridge on Friday as they made off with a 9-2 victory.
Colby Payne was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Norfolk Christian is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-11 otherwise. Payne was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryan Lengkeek, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Norfolk Christian: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was DJ Howell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Norfolk Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Cape Henry Collegiate has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Norfolk Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Cape Henry Collegiate skirted past Norfolk Christian 3-1 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Dolphins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ambassadors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
