The Beachside Barracudas will head out on the road to square off against the Interlachen Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Interlachen took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Beachside, who comes in off a win.
Beachside's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Wolfson 9-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Barracudas.
Madden Lutze made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Lutze was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Kyleigh Kendall was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lily Jurgens, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Beachside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.
Meanwhile, Interlachen came up short against Buchholz on Thursday, falling 15-5. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Baileigh Riddley was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Lanahan, who scored a run and stole a base.
Interlachen's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Beachside, their record is now 2-0.
Beachside was able to grind out a solid victory over Interlachen in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 9-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Beachside since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
