After a string of four wins, the DeMotte Christian Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to Pioneer. The game was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but DeMotte Christian was outscored by Pioneer in the second.
Despite the loss, DeMotte Christian still got an impressive performance from Luke Terpstra, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Terpstra has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Bos, who scored nine points along with five assists and five rebounds.
DeMotte Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for Pioneer, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
DeMotte Christian will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Faith Christian at 6:30 p.m. As for Pioneer, they will head out on the road to face off against Caston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
