It was a good run, but the Arcadia Firebirds unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northampton. Arcadia has struggled against Northampton recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Arcadia had strong showings from Jordan Cropper, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds, and RonRico Bugg, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Bugg is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Carson Lucy was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Northampton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ronyell Coston out in front who scored 21 points along with five steals. Coston hasn't dropped below 15 points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Quayshawn Washington, who scored 19 points along with six steals.
Arcadia's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Northampton, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcadia will face off against Nandua at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northampton, they will head out on the road to take on Snow Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
