Parsons have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Caney Valley at 7:00 PM. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
Last Friday, Parsons put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They were the clear victor by a 34-6 margin over Columbus. Senior Gage Friess, who passed for 247 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in Parsons's success. Near the top of the highlight reel was Friess's 50-yard TD bomb to Daquan Johnson in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, Caney Valley dodged a bullet, finishing off Frontenac 21-20. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 5-1. While both teams are coming in off of wins, only one will triumph this week. Who will it be ? Check back in with MaxPreps after the game is over for details.
