Baseball Recap: Granite City Extends Winning Streak to Three

Granite City hadn't done well against Collinsville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Warriors came out on top against the Kahoks by a score of 6-3. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on three straight.

Micheal Terry looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Evan Brewer and Brenden Hard did most of the damage at the plate: Brewer went 3-for-4 with three runs, while Hard went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Hard a new career-high. Andrew Willaredt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Granite City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Collinsville only managed four hits.

Granite City's record now sits at 4-9. As for Collinsville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Granite City will host Springfield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Collinsville, they will venture away from home to face off against Edwardsville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Kahoks are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
