The Chelsea Academy Knights will be playing at home against the Seton Conquistadors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Chelsea Academy has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Seton will arrive with five straight victories.
Chelsea Academy suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Fairfax HomeSchool by a score of 74-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Monday (58), Chelsea Academy still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Seton put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They really took it to Fredericksburg Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-34 win at home. Given Seton's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Fredericksburg Christian is ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chelsea Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Seton, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Chelsea Academy was taken down by Seton 74-24 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Chelsea Academy was down 41-15.
