Softball Recap: Cedar Creek's Losing Streak Snapped at 17 Games

Cedar Creek had to endure a 17-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They won by a run and slipped past the Navarro Vikings 19-18. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cedar Creek let A Mata and O Prokop run wild. Mata went 3-for-6 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Prokop went 4-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those hits were Mata's first of the season. P Faske was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Cedar Creek's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-13. As for Navarro, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Cedar Creek will venture away from home to challenge McCallum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Creek will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Navarro, they will welcome Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Navarro has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
