The Fort Gibson Tigers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Verdigris Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Fort Gibson is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Oklahoma (they are ranked 88th, while Verdigris is ranked 249th).
After soaring to a 36-point win in their last game, Fort Gibson came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of Ada by a score of 50-48.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Verdigris sidestepped Jay for a 50-47 victory.
Fort Gibson's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8. As for Verdigris, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-13.
Fort Gibson beat Verdigris 53-46 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Gibson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
