In what's become a running theme this season, the Immanuel Christian Crusaders gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They breezed by Owens Valley at home to the tune of 63-27. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-14.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Immanuel Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izaiah Galvez, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Galvez scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathew Guevara, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Despite the defeat, Owens Valley saw an underclassman step up: Drake Martinez shot 4-for-4 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Martinez also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Kevin Glenn, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Immanuel Christian has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Owens Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Immanuel Christian will challenge the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Owens Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against the Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
