Basketball Game Preview: Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves vs. Indianapolis Lutheran Saints

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory has gone 4-0 against Indianapolis Lutheran recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves will face off against the Indianapolis Lutheran Saints at 7:30 p.m. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory earned a 62-55 win over Indianapolis Bishop Chatard. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Trojans are ranked 328th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nicholas Sobek and Ben Mckinney were among the main playmakers for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory as the former almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards and the latter dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Those nine rebounds gave Sobek a new career-high. Jacob Strickland was another key player, putting up eight points.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 60-45 bruising from University.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Indianapolis Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory took their victory against Indianapolis Lutheran when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 73-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
