The West Rowan Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They snuck past Carson with a 77-72 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Evan Kennedy was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Givens Jr., who scored 14 points.
West Rowan pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Carson, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
West Rowan won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Salisbury at 4:30 p.m. on December 29th. Salisbury knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully West Rowan likes a good challenge. Carson won't have much time to rest: their next match is against East Rowan at 10:30 a.m. on December 29th. East Rowan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 584th, while Carson is ranked 256th).
