The Clemente Wildcats will be playing at home against the North Lawndale Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clemente comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
While Clemente couldn't quite beat North Grand on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 34-point loss they were dealt on Thursday. Clemente fell just short of North Grand by a score of 26-23. Clemente has not had much luck with North Grand recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
North Lawndale posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They skirted past Schurz 46-43. That's two games straight that North Lawndale has won by exactly three points.
Clemente dropped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.7 points per game. As for North Lawndale, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Clemente was taken down by North Lawndale 106-25 in their previous matchup back in February of 2017.
