Academy of Science and Innovation's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maiara Rodriguez led the charge by scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The game was Rodriguez's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Saldana, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals.
Academy of Science and Innovation pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Plainville, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Academy of Science and Innovation will head out on the road to face off against Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Academy of Science and Innovation is ranked 29th). As for Plainville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Platt at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Platt is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
