Baseball Recap: Theodore's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Theodore had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Murphy Panthers on Wednesday. Considering the Bobcats have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chase Caine made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaden Davis was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Austin Youngblood was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Theodore was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Theodore's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Murphy, they are on a 30-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-23.

Theodore will have a chance to go back-to-back against Murphy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
