Basketball Recap: South Baldwin Christian Academy Takes a Loss

South Baldwin Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators, falling 41-12. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-2.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caroline Arthur, who posted seven points and seven rebounds. Anna Kate Lee was another key player, putting up two points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, South Baldwin Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Gulf Pointe Latin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bethany Crumpler out in front who put up four points and five steals. What's more, Crumpler also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brionna Lockhart, who had four points and seven rebounds.

South Baldwin Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Baldwin Christian Academy will host Atmore Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they will take on Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
