Basketball Recap: Rossville Christian Academy's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

Rossville Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bayou Academy Colts. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

When it comes to explaining why Rossville Christian Academy lost, don't look at Shaterrica Faulkner. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 11 en route to 16 points along with five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Faulkner a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evey Nelson, who posted six points.

Rossville Christian Academy's defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-10. As for Bayou Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.

Rossville Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Holly Springs at 6:00 p.m. As for Bayou Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Copiah Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 27th.
