The Valley Vikings posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. Everything went their way against Rio Grande as Valley made off with a 60-36 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-10.
Nevaeh Richardson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and six steals. She hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Giana Roybal was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Valley's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for Rio Grande, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Valley will take on Cottonwood Classical Prep at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rio Grande, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Capital at 7:00 p.m. Capital is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
