The New Prairie Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Argos 75-30 at home. Considering New Prairie has won six matches by more than 20 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
New Prairie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jolie Johns led the charge by scoring 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johns has scored at least 25% of New Prairie's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan White, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Argos lost, one person who can't be blamed is Samantha Redinger. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points. The game was Redinger's 13th in a row with at least ten points.
New Prairie's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.8 points. As for Argos, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Prairie will be home for the holidays to greet Marquette Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Marquette Catholic is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.2 points per game. Argos will be home for the holidays to greet Bethany Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bethany Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.9 points per game.
