False River has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, False River was the victim of a tough 75-51 defeat at the hands of the Vikings. False River has not had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Karson Lacombe, who scored 15 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. He hasn't dropped below six steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Matthew Graffeo, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Catholic of Pointe Coupee's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to North Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
False River has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-20 record this season. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
False River suffered a grim 78-57 defeat to the Hornets in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can False River avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
