Despite the loss, Southeast Halifax saw an underclassman step up: Janiyla Pierce scored 8 points along with 6 steals. Pierce scored a full 44.4% of Southeast Halifax's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Northwest Halifax's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camaya Adkins, who scored 21 points. The matchup was Adkins' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Keyara Rook was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
The last time Southeast Halifax won on the road was back last Friday. Having now lost three straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Northwest Halifax, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast Halifax will take on KIPP P at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwest Halifax, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northampton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northampton County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Northwest Halifax likes a good challenge.
