Even though the South Rowan Raiders scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the East Rowan Mustangs still came out on top. East Rowan secured a 61-55 W over the Raiders. That's another feather in the cap for East Rowan, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
South Rowan lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kynlee Dextraze, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Atwell, who scored 15 points along with five assists.
The win got East Rowan back to even at 10-10. As for South Rowan, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Rowan will take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Cabarrus presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mustangs in North Carolina (the Trojans are ranked 98th, while the Mustangs are ranked 273rd). As for South Rowan, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Spiders at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
