The Providence Pioneers lost against the Borden Braves back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Saturday. Providence took a   52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Borden. Providence has struggled against Borden recently, as their  match on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
 When it comes to explaining why Providence lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Avery  Smith. Despite the final result, she  scored 23 points along with eight  rebounds. Smith set a new season high mark in points with 23. Another player making a difference was  Livy  Theobald, who  scored eight points.
 Providence has  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost three of their last four matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Borden, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence is on the road again  on Tuesday and play against Austin at 7:30  p.m.  on December 12th. As for Borden, they will  square off against Shoals at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
