It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the De Smet Jesuit Spartans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Rock Bridge by a score of 23-16. The win was familiar territory for De Smet Jesuit who now have three in a row.
Dillon Duff looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 188 yards and two touchdowns. De Smet Jesuit also got a significant boost from Damarion White, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 87 yards.
De Smet Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Rock Bridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
De Smet Jesuit is on the road again on Friday and play against Christian Brothers. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Christian Brothers is ranked fourth, while De Smet Jesuit is ranked fifth). Rock Bridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
