This season hasn't been kind to The Miami Beach Hi-Tides, who are still winless after their tenth match. They were outmatched by Palmetto at home and fell 47-0. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, Miami Beach couldn't push the score so high this time.
Ethan Lopez was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown. Charquez Lee made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Miami Beach's defeat was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 0-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-3 Miami Springs and 6-4 Reagan (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 55.7% over those games). As for Palmetto, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Miami Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Palmetto will be playing in front of their home fans against Doral Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Doral Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Palmetto is ranked 33rd).
