It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by Kennedy at home to the tune of 56-12. Considering St. Vincent de Paul has won eight contests by more than 22 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
St. Vincent de Paul's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Casanovas, who threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Caturegli, who rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.
St. Vincent de Paul pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.38 points. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
St. Vincent de Paul will be playing at home against Fortuna at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fortuna will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
