Sacred Heart Prep fell 58-51 to St. Ignatius College Preparatory on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sacred Heart Prep has scored all season.
Loss or not, Sacred Heart Prep got some senior leadership from JP Kerrigan who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and TJ O'Brien who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The match was O'Brien's third in a row with at least ten points. Tyler Hogan was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Sacred Heart Prep were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Sacred Heart Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Sacred Heart Prep will head out on the road to face off against Serra at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Serra will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Sacred Heart Prep is ranked 114th). St. Ignatius College Preparatory will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Archie Williams at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th.
