It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Momence Momence Athletics can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Maroa-Forsyth on Saturday, falling 42-6. Momence's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Erick Castillo threw for 126 yards on 16 of 31 attempts. Tyrelle Autman was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards. On the ground, Marchello Draine rushed for 47 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maroa-Forsyth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaiden Maurer, who threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Andre Harden was another key contributor, gaining 106 total yards and two touchdowns.
Momence's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Maroa-Forsyth, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Momence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Maroa-Forsyth will square off against Bloomington Central Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bloomington Central Catholic is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
