Newman scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took an 80-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Abbotsford Falcons. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (62), the Fighting Cardinals still had to take the loss.

Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Abbotsford, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

Newman will head out to square off against Auburndale at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Abbotsford, they will be home for the holidays to greet Prentice at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
