Basketball Recap: The Pinnacle Falls Despite Big Games from Mario Munoz and Caleb Arellano

The Pinnacle played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 56-30 to the Englewood Pirates. The game marked the Timberwolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, The Pinnacle had strong showings from Caleb Arellano, who posted ten points, and Mario Munoz, who put up ten points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Arellano is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Randy Garcia also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Englewood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonah Singer, who went 7 of 9 en route to 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Singer has scored at least a third of Englewood's points. Soren Singer was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards.

The Pinnacle's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Englewood, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-6.

The Pinnacle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 76-46 win against Valley on the 14th. Englewood has also already played their next game, a 58-44 defeat against Pomona on the 11th.
