Gilroy barely beat Westmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors  a   13-0 shutout  on Tuesday. Considering the Mustangs have won 11 matchups by more than six  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Ariela Yslava was a  major factor no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Jennie Hernandez was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base. That's the most  doubles  she has posted since back in May of 2024.  Andrea Alvarez was another key player,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  doubles and two  RBI.
 Gilroy was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .581. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Gilroy's victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 18-6. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Westmont, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.
 Coming up, Gilroy will challenge Willow Glen at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Rams will roll in looking for their  26th straight  victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westmont, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Leland  at 4:00  p.m.
