After a string of 11 wins, the Redlands Adventist Academy Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They suffered a tough 65-44 defeat at the hands of Upper Columbia Academy. While losing is never fun, Redlands Adventist Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 743rd in California, while Upper Columbia Academy is ranked 319th in Washington).
Redlands Adventist Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Calhoun, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Carter Leichty, who scored seven points along with two blocks.
Redlands Adventist Academy's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for Upper Columbia Academy, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-12.
Redlands Adventist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Upper Columbia Academy will head out on the road to square off against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
