Excel hasn't had much luck against Satsuma recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gators at 3:30 p.m. Excel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Excel will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Sweet Water on Friday. The Panthers walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Bulldogs.

Greyson Nettles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.
Excel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sweet Water only posted a batting average of .310.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Satsuma ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over Cottage Hill Christian Academy. Winning may never get old, but the Gators sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Like Excel, Satsuma also got a great game from a two-way player: Cooper Crenshaw. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Crenshaw was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
Crenshaw wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Darius Kapua, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. Joshua Fraser was another, earning three RBI.
Excel's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Satsuma, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.
Excel might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Satsuma when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
