Seneca proved they can win big  on Friday (they won by 24) and  on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Portland Christian Eagles out  44-42. The  win was familiar territory for the Red Hawks who have now won five  matches in a row.
Seneca got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Justice Parks out in front who  dropped  a double-double on 11 points and 11  rebounds. Parks has been hot, having  posted eight or more  boards the last five times she's  played.  Janell Julue was another key player,  dropping  a double-double on ten  points and ten  boards.
 Seneca  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 26  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive boards in six consecutive  games.
Seneca's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Portland Christian, their loss  ended  a  five-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 4-3.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seneca will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pleasure Ridge Park at 2:00  p.m.  on January 3, 2025. Portland Christian will also get a bit of a break before their next  contest: they'll face off against Christian Educational Consortium at 5:00  p.m.  on January 13, 2025.
