The Grape Creek Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Sweetwater Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Grape Creek put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy with a sharp 16-3 victory. The win continues a trend for Grape Creek in their matchups with San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy: they've now won three in a row.
Chance Haley and Braley Woods made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Haley tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Meanwhile, Woods tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Haley has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Haley scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Woods fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and five runs while going 3-for-5. Those two home runs gave Woods a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lane Kluesner, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Landon Stovall also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Grape Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Sweetwater got the win against San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy last Tuesday by a conclusive 22-2. The game marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season.
Blayne Bohall made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Bohall was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Cash Barnes was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Daniel Rodriguez, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4.
The win made it two in a row for Sweetwater and bumps their season record up to 9-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Grape Creek, their record is now 4-9.
