Inter-County - Gold recap Oct. 23, 2012
Bellwood-Antis extended the longest winning streak in Inter-County - Gold this week by beating Northern Bedford County, 20-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Blue Devils.
West Branch took down Mt. Union 45-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Chad Speigle ran for 183 yards and caught one passes for 18 yards in the win.
The Warriors' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Walker Williams threw for 105 and one touchdown and Parker Emigh had 87 yards receiving.
The Panthers' Blake Over and Kyler Diehl have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Over has thrown for 1599 yards this season, while Diehl, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 40 catches for 679 yards. Speigle from West Branch leads the league in rushing with 1189 yards.
Lester Smeal's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,699 from 11,344. The improvement came about via a 45-21 victory over the Trojans last week.
