Richmond and the Wildkats are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Richmond Red Devils will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Kokomo Wildkats at 7:30 p.m.
Last Thursday, Richmond was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to the Indians. Richmond has struggled against the Indians recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Richmond got a solid performance out of Cedric Horton, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braiden Hogg, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Kokomo scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Cathedral 91-74. The victory was nothing new for Kokomo as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Kokomo had a senior duo take command as Flory Bidunga dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds and Karson Rogers dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Bidunga is crushing the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Korbyn Hammel, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Richmond's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-2. As for Kokomo, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3.
